Version 1.0.1 of F/A-18 Mission Chooser has been posted to
sumex-aim.stanford.edu and Chemotaxis.biology.utah.edu.
No fixes or added functionality, just cut the size in half.
+---------------------------------------------------------------------+
Q: What does it do?
A: The F/A-18 Mission Chooser (FA18-MC) allows you to choose the next
mission a pilot will fly in F/A-18 Hornet.
Q: Why the hell did v1.0 need to be 150k?
A: It didn't need to be. F/A-18 Mission Chooser evolved from some generic
roll-yer-own class libraries and I just didn't take the time to
remove the overhead.
I have since cut much of the uselessness out and v1.0.1 has shrunk
to about half the original size (72k). If the size is still a
problem, you can cut the "pretty pictures" out of the resource fork
and it will shrink to about 40k.
Q: F/A-18 Mission Chooser corrupted my PILOT file!
A: Yes, it can happen. If you have a weak heart you should only use
FA18-MC on copies of your pilot files.
The corruption occurs when you complete a mission and open the pilot
with FA18-MC without first choosing Get Next Mission in FA18
Hornet. The fix? Always choose Get Next Mission before using
FA18-MC.
Q: Can you revive my pilot?
A: Perhaps, but first someone will need to find the portion of the
data file that tells whether the pilot is dead or not. If anyone
tracks it down, send it to me and I'll put a revive pilot feature in
FA18-MC. It would also be fairly easy to add mission medals and
kills if that portion of the data file could be found.

Much thanks to:
* GraphicSimulations for Hellcats and Hornet
* Tom Morrison for locating the mission offset in the data file and
maintaining the Hornet/Hellcats FTP site -
Chemotaxis.biology.utah.edu.
